PGI -08 All-Star Display:

All the shells were manufactured at the PGI convention and pasted on WASP machines. This is only a brief portion of the display. Note the very nice 12" shell that appears in the upper left corner of the video.

BELOW: At the convention a 24" shell was assembled. The casing was rolled on the WASP24 machine, and then filled with 3",4" and 5" Chinese shells. The 24" shell was then closed and placed back on the machine to be pasted. Two hours and approximately 9000 feet of tape later, the shell was completely pasted. It was fired two days later at the end of the Grand Public Display.

Click Here for video of the above shell firing   It was not the most spectacular 24" ever made, but it certainly set a record for expedience in manufacture. The shell was assembled, pasted and fired within 3 days!

Click here for video of another WASP-pasted 24" shell.  This shell was made by Karl Mearz and Aaron Enzer at Ace Pyro.  These pyros are actively working on these large shells. This shell was pasted on the WASP24 and contains 3" comets and a 12" pistil, and a ring of large stars.

Below are links to videos of two nicely made 8" double petalled shells. These are made in the Japanese style, and feature different inner petal sizes. The 10" is a comet shell with red pistil.

Here are two shells from the recent CrackerJack shoot. These are two really nice shells. The first is a double petal w/pistil chrysanthemum. The Inner Petal is a a delayed glitter which is a little difficult to see. Excellent symmetry on the OP.

This is a 10" fancy shell with a great color changing inner petal. The outer petal is a bunch of insert shells. Note the perfect timing, and really good distribution in the sky. This is not an easy shell to make!

The next shell is a 10" kamuro w/ swimming silver inner petal. This ahell was assembled and then pasted on a WASP5 machine and shot 3 hours later! The cameraman was  a little too close, but you can still see the excellent symmetry of this shell.

Here is a link to PGI President Bill Bahr using his WASP5 to paste a 12" shell at the 2009 PGI Convention in Mason City, Iowa. The clip shows the shell being pasted and Bill locating and then cutting out the magnet to prepare the shell for fusing. You will need to copy and paste this to your web browser. The video is about 8 minutes long.
