The WASP4

This machine is as versatile as it is powerful.The WASP4 quickly produces high quality paste jobs on shells 3" through 12". It features powerful 960 oz./in. motors and drivers and a power supply to match. The end result is a very strong machine that makes short work of pasting both small and large shells.

It takes only a minute to adjust the machine for small size shells from 3" to 6".  When pasting 8", 10" and 12" shells it is required that the motors be repositioned outward, and this takes about 3-4 minutes. The tape application arm can be extended to accomodate these larger shells. The WASP4 is a proven workhorse that will provide years of maintenance-free service.

The link below is a video of the WASP4 applying the first layer of tape on a 5" shell. This particular program puts on 1000 inches of tape, in 5 evenly spaced layers in 66 seconds. It should be noted that 1 layer as applied by a WASP machine is equal to approximately 1.4 conventionally applied layers. After burnishing, the pasted paper is approximately 1/8" thick and dries to a smooth, hard finish.
