The WASP3, WASP4 and WASP5: The finest shell pasting machines on the planet!

At the recent PGI Convention in Fargo ND, USA, WASP machines were used  to produce over 200 shells during the week. The machines functioned perfectly with approximately 12 miles of gummed tape being applied to shells 4" through 12".

Below are some pictures from the Convention.

A WASP4 machine loaded with a fresh 12" shell, ready for pasting. It took about 8-1/2 minutes to pastes over 900' of 1-1/2" x 60lb gummed tape on this shell. After 24 hours, the shell was completely dry after losing over 6 ounces of water!

A WASP5 loaded with a 5" shell ready to "Start Full Run".  During the week, many people operated the machines for the first time, and had no problems learning how to use it. Less than 60 seconds later, this shell was fully pasted and burnished. Another shell was placed upon the machine and the process repeated.

A good days work with a WASP machine. These are part of the 214 shells produced over 4 days at the 2007 PGI Convention.
