WASP4 ,WASP5, and WASP Stinger: The finest shell pasting machines on the planet!

At the recent PGI Convention in Fargo ND, USA, WASP machines were used  to produce over 200 shells during the week. The machines functioned perfectly with approximately 12 miles of gummed tape being applied to shells 4" through 12".

Below are some pictures from the Convention.

A WASP4 machine loaded with a fresh 12" shell, ready for pasting. It took about 8-1/2 minutes to pastes over 900' of 1-1/2" x 60lb gummed tape on this shell. After 24 hours, the shell was completely dry after losing over 6 ounces of water!

Machines waiting for shells

A Wasp4 loaded with aother 12" shell, ready for pasting. Over the course of 4 days, Ten such shells were manufactured.

A WASP5 loaded with a 5" shell ready to "Start Full Run".  During the week, many people operated the machines for the first time, and had no problems learning how to use it. Less than 60 seconds later, this shell was fully pasted and burnished. Another shell was placed upon the machine and the process repeated.

A good days work with a WASP machine. These are part of the 214 shells produced over 4 days at the 2007 PGI Convention.

Here is the 24" shell that was pasted on a WASP24 machine at the 08 PGI convention and then successfully fired 2 days later, -certainly setting a record for expediency in large shell manufacture.

At the '08 PGI Convention 188 shells 4" through 12" were manufactured and succesfully fired in a short 5 minute display. All shells functioned perfectly with hard, round breaks. The link below is to amature video of the display. It directly follows the firedcracker "superstring" on the video. Note that some of the shells were designed to "dump" their contents to match the audio track. All other shells produced nice round flowers.
